New Labour Party President Fresher Siwale has been granted K 10,000 bail in his own recognizance with two working sureties who must be managers in reputable organisations.
Diamond TV reports that Mr. Siwale is alleged to have defamed President Edgar Lungu when he stated that the President’s real name is Jonathan Mutaware and not Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
He has been granted bail by Magistrate Alice Walusiku following his application for bail pending trial after spending more than a week in custody.
Meanwhile, the accused has denied the charge of defamation of the President.
Trial commences on May 23 and 24.
