Zambia National Service -ZNS- Commandant, Lieutenant General Nathan Mulenga, says the service is ready to partner with the Livingstone City Council to complete a new market and Inter City Bus Station in the Tourist Capital.
Construction of the two facilities begun in 2013 but works have stalled.
Speaking to journalists shortly after touring the facilities, General MULENGA said President Edgar Lungu has directed him to find other ways to complete the two structures.
General Mulenga said once funds are made available, a team from the ZNS working with Livingstone City Council, will be capable of completing the two structures in the shortest possible time.
Livingstone City Council Assistant Director of Engineering, MUYUNDA Muyambango, said about Eighty Million-Kwacha is needed to complete the two structures.
Mr. Muyambango said once funded, the two structures can be completed within six months.
And Livingstone Mayor Eugene Mapuwo said he is optimistic that the partnership with the ZNS will accelerate the completion of the modern market and the Inter City Bus Station.
