President Edgar Lungu has challenged those alleging that this year’s general elections will be rigged to provide evidence to prove their claim.

President Lungu says he personally has no intentions of rigging the elections.
Speaking this morning to journalists at Kenneth Kaunda international airport before departure to Uganda President assured the nation of free and fair elections.
President Lungu believes that the opposition which has expressed fears of the August election being rigged are only spreading false rumors out of fear of losing the elections.

And President Lungu says he does not presently see any need to declare a state of emergency in the Country.
He says the Zambia Police has assured him that the widespread political violence that is being witnessed in the ongoing campaigns for the August elections will come to an end.
President Lungu is scheduled to return back tomorrow Tuesday the 5th of July.
