The rivalry in the MMD has taken a new twist with National Secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima announcing the suspension of his Deputy Winnie Zaloumis for misconduct.
Mr Mbulakulima said his deputy has been signing suspensions, expulsions and an affidavit without his consent.
Meanwhile Bishop Joshua Banda of Northmead Assembly of God Church in Lusaka this afternoon met with the MMD factions that are seeking to reconcile.
Bishop Banda, who is the negotiator for the two factions said he met the groups’ one after the other.
One group is led by MMD leader Nevers Mumba and the other by Lunte MP Felix Mutati.
Bishop Banda said he first met the group which comprised former President Rupiah Banda and later that of Dr Mumba.
He said he is hopeful that reconciliation will be attained in the MMD.
