ZESCO United Football Club says it will play all its remaining home fixtures at the Ndola Trade Fair grounds.
ZANIS sports reports from Ndola that ZESCO United FC public relations officer Katebe Chengo revealed this in an interview.
Chengo said the club has decided to take all its home fixtures to the Trade Fair grounds in order to pave way for the authorities to adequately address the issue of the Army worms at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
She further said the club decided that since the Levy Mwanawasa stadium will soon be hosting the Cosafa tournament it was ideal that the stadium be reserved for the tournament.
Chengo refuted insinuations that the club had abandoned the new stadium on account of ill-luck.
“To say we have abandoned Levy Mwanawasa Stadium for Trade Fair grounds is unfair on our part because we have registered the two stadiums as our home grounds.
“ We all know that Levy Mwanawasa is a national and multi-facility stadium that is used for other activities by other organizations,” she said.
She added that as a club, ZESCO United believes that as a game football has to have winners and losers.
“As a club we are not experiencing any bad luck whatsoever, we believe that there is no such thing as bad luck, football is a game and we expect good and bad results,’ she said.
