Nominations of presidential candidates in the forthcoming 2016 General elections have been slated for 6th to 10th June 2016.
Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ Chairperson Esau Chuulu has announced.
Justice Chuulu was speaking during the Electoral Stakeholders meeting in Lusaka at the ECZ headquarters.
Justice Chuulu further said nominations for Parliamentary and Local government elections will take place on June 29th 2016 while nominations for mayoral elections will be conducted on June 28th.
He said publication of valid nominated candidates will be done on July 5th 2016.
Meanwhile, Justice Chuulu announced that the verification and approval of 100 supporters from each province for the nomination of presidential candidates will be conducted at provincial level.
He says supporters will not be required to travel to Lusaka.
Justice Chuulu was reacting to UPND Monze Central Member of Parliament JACK Mwiimbu on modalities of dealing with supporters required for presidential candidates.
