Police in Mansa have arrested a 26-year- old man for defiling his five month old baby girl.
Moffat Mboshi of Mwenad village in chief Chimense’s chiefdom is alleged to have sexually abused his daughter from the time she was born.
Luapula province deputy Police Commissioner Webby Shula confirmed the development to ZANIS in Mansa today.
Mr Shula said the incident came to light when an irate mob from the village handed the suspect over to the police last Thursda around 16:30 hours.
Mr Shula said the matter was confirmed by the mother to the baby Benadette Chisha who said she decided to expose her husband’s acts after she saw his unchanging behaviour.
Mr Shula said the baby has been taken to Mansa general hospital for medical examination.
He disclosed that Moffat Mboshi will appear in court soon.
And in another development, Police in Mansa have also received a defilement report from Theresa Kunda involving her 15-year- old brother.
Kunda reported that her brother was defiled by a 27-year-old woman of Labi village in chief Kalasa of Lukangaba area.
Police have identified the woman defiler as Mwita Chileshe who is alleged to have sexual intercourse with the minor and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.
Mr Shula said this was after the juvenile went to ask for his money from Chileshe.
He said it was then that Chileshe offered herself to have sex with the juvenile as she had no money to give him.
Mr Shula said the duo will undergo a medical check-up and that the suspect will appear in court soon.
