It has been confirmed to the Siya Crew that Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa has died after being shot.
Details are sketchy, but it was confirmed on Sunday to Soccer Laduma that Meyiwa had died from a gunshot wound.
Meyiwa it is believed was shot in Vosloorus, and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Meyiwa was in action just last night, as Pirates defeated Ajax Cape Town 4-1 at Orlando Stadium.
He had been as star for Bafana Bafana of late, and in the four 2015 Afcon qualifiers played to date he was yet to concede a goal, and captained the team.
His death was confirmed by the South African Police Service’s Twitter account on Sunday night.
