a 22-year-old woman of Kitwe has allegedly been gang-raped by six men who waylaid and dragged her into an unfinished building around 22:00 hours, Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa has said.
She said the victim reported the matter to the police shortly after the incident and police officers issued her with a medical report form to enable her access treatment.
Ms Kasosa said the victim has indicated that she is able to identify her assailants.
Meanwhile, NANCY CHUNI reports that police in Chililabombwe have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl around 23:00 hours on Friday.
She identified the suspect as Erick Mwakumelo
Ms Kasosa said Mwakumelo allegedly defiled the girl as she was returning home from visiting her grandmother in Poor People’s Zambia township.
