Chingola town or district which has produced so many powerful people in Zambia and abroad looks like it has just come from gorilla war. The town which once was a cleanest place in Zambia has dramatically lost its glory and respect it deserves. Many people who once stayed in chingola get disappointed and frustrated whenever they visit or came back to stay. The things in chingola are just becoming bad to worse and one wonders who is going to redeem the people of chingola from the current mess to the promise land or back to its old days. The town which boast of having the biggest mine in the world and best management college has now nothing to point at.
People were hoping that things will change now after been accorded two full serving cabinet ministers but not as expected.
When you walk or drive through nchanga’s area , pot hole roads, high, unemployment rate, eratic water supply, poor planning of new plots, no drugs in hospitals and other problems will great you in that part of chingola. If simuusa who claimed to be Mr. Wind full tax continued pushing his goals up to now, no doubt that most of problems mentioned above would have been thing for the past. It is shocking that even the roads leading to these MPs houses has pot holes and residents still expect better roads in their areas? It is going to be a nightmare and no wonder buntugwa ward councilor, Mr. Chilundika challenged him on the seriousness of road constructions and other developments in nchanga constituency and thank GOD Royce Saili from RDA quickly come to the aid and chingola will soon have durable roads like other towns.
Surely people, a town like chingola having cabinet ministers at a silver plate can still has such pathetic roads? Can you believed it honestly that our MP can stand on the anti hill and start singing the songs of praises to these Indian harvested just because they have procured a cheap open pit machine on credit at the expense of suffering many contractors without shame? The KCM owners in my view do not deserve any praises from any one. Look at how bad roads are in the streets and those connecting hospitals and then somebody is busy dancing for these KCM harvesters for what? The town centre which was once gold rush for resident to stay there has lost its status and people now would rather stay in remote part of chingola.
When you visit chawama clinic here in chingola constituency it is indeed a sad story, where our expecting mothers are told to come with extra candle and bucket of water because of unreliable water and electricity supply to the clinic, there is no proper sanitation and beddings in all wards, I tell u it is hell on earth especially when you are admitted at this clinic. Chingola school for continue education and zamim chingola campus are other places need immediately attention before any disturbing news start coming from there. For instance at chingola school for continue education, pupils toilet are in the deplorable state exposing them to possible disease.
I’m glad that zamim chingola campus problems have been also posted on watchdog. Our MPs should know that a society without these institutions is dead one and hence adequate funding and frequently visiting these places will be appreciated by the community.
It is also disappointing that our MPs voice is silent on the underpaying of compensation to small scale farmers in chabanyama by KCM and on –going disputes between KCM and Contractors where we expected our MPs to fight for poor Zambian workers and farmers. Chingola resident have been neglected by this MPs to the extent that these vulnerable contractors workers can now defend themselves by strikes so that their voice can be at least heard.
Cadres sharing plots in lulamba industrial area, eratic water supply in site and service, chikola, lulamba and other areas are other problems. We are always told by government to vote for ruling party MPs for us to receive development but that is what exactly we did, then where is different for those who have opposition MPs? I think they are better of than us. No wonder the councilors have taken upon themselves to start fixing road network using their slavery allowance as compared to them who receive billion of kwacha without much sweaty, it is indeed more money in their pockets and no wonder KCM is boasting of making free money in Zambia because people to push them are busy sleeping. Chingola is no different from areas like mufumbwe, petauke central, vumbwi and other areas that had no MPs for long time.

The two MPs are the worst in the current parliament. their have done nothing for people of chingola.
I agree with your view on the fact that our MPs are no where to be seen in Chingola, especially Mr Katema but i think credit should be given where it is due. The picture you have used paints a very bad picture of the facts on the ground. That part of town has been worked and it looks knit and beautiful.
