Siavonga hubby batters wife found have sex with stranger
Siavonga , July 14, , 2013, ZANIS —- A 42 year old charcoal burner of Kanyama village in Chief Sinadambwe’s area man of Siavonga district has appeared in the magistrate court charged for assaulting his wife.
Eckson Shamponde appeared on Friday before magistrate Bartholomew Kaongo charged with one count of assault contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Facts before court were that on 25th May, 2013 Shamponde did assault his wife after caught he her committing adultery with another man.
When the charge asked the defendant whether he understood the charge was ready for him in court, Shamponde said he understood the charge and admitted the offence.
He told the court that he assaulted his wife using a whip because he got annoyed when he caught his wife red handed having sexual intercourse with another man.
Magistrate Kaongo therefore recorded a plea of guilty and set 15th July, 2013 for facts. The accused person is on police bond.
In the same court, a 21 year old man of Machavika village in Chirundu district appeared for assaulting his beer friend.
Before Siavonga magistrate’s court Bartolommeo Kaongo was Gift Munyama a businessman who stood charged with one count of assault.
It was alleged that on 17th June, 2013 Munyama did assault Green Salioti by accessioning his bodily harm contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Munyama told the court that he assaulted Salioti with blows after same differences while the duo were drank.
The accused person said he understood the charge and admitted the offence saying he fought with Salioti and assaulted him.
The magistrate therefore recorded a plea of guilty and adjourned the matter to 15th July, 2013 for written facts.
The accused person is remanded in custody at Chirundu police Station.
