—President Michael Sata has sent a message of condolences to the Patriotic Front (PF) Nakonde Member of Parliament (MP), Abel Sichula and his family, on the untimely death of their mother Tekela Chisata.
Mr Sata said he was so saddened to receive the message on the death of the MP’S mother who died due to high blood pressure at the age of 87 at her home on Monday, this week in Nakonde district of Muchinga Province.
The President said this in a speech delivered on his behalf by Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President, Davis Mwango, during the burial of Mr Sichulas’ mother in Nakonde yesterday.
Mr Sata has since advised the Sichula family to be united and be strong during this moment of grief.
Meanwhile, Mr Mwango has appealed to Nakonde residents to work together with the PF government if the district is to develop quickly.
The Deputy Minister said government has lined up so many programmes which are in line with taking development to rural areas such as Nakonde.
He reiterated that the PF government means well and is there to improve the livelihood of people, especially the poor across the country.
Mr Mwango further asked the people of Nakonde to exercise patience with the government as it implements the programmes, adding that it would stick to its election campaign promises of taking development as close to the people as possible.
