TP MAZEMBE chairman Moise Katumbi says he has no intention of blocking Chipolopolo defender Stopilla Sunzu from moving to English Premiership side Reading.
Katumbi told the Mazembe website that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Sunzu’s transfer to Reading has been marred in confusion.
The player’s England-based FIFA agent Paul Carew believes Sunzu’s contract expired last December while Mazembe are insisting it runs up to 2015.
Reading coach Brian McDermot has, however, assured fans that despite the confusion, Sunzu’s deal will be completed before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
Mazembe are confident negotiations will be successful to enable Sunzu realise his dream move to one of the best leagues in the world.
Sunzu, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Bundesliga side Hoffeinhlm, had a one-year stint at French Ligue 2 outfit Berrichonne Chateauroux before joining Mazembe on a four-year deal in 2010.
Mazembe have left Sunzu out of their squad for the 2013 CAF Champions League
