A POLICE officer from Chirundu yesterday admitted in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court having forged her grade 12 school certificate.
Mulako Naluba, 40, of Chirundu’s High Cost residential area is charged with three counts of forgery and uttering a false document contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged in count one that Naluba on unknown dates but between 1994 and December 1999 in Lusaka, with intent to defraud or deceive, forged a grade 12 school certificate number 880880980 by purporting that the certificate was genuinely issued by the Examinations Council of Zambia when in fact not.
Naluba, in the second count, is alleged to have, on unknown date but in October, 1999 in Lusaka knowingly and fraudulently uttered a grade 12 certificate number 880880880 to Chomba Chaongopa.
Count three alleges that Naluba between October, 1999 and November 2015 in Lusaka by false pretences dishonestly obtained for herself K224,788, a remuneration as a woman constable in the Zambia Police Service, a job secured through a forged grade 12 certificate.
Naluba, who took plea before magistrate Faides Hamaundu, pleaded guilty to all the three counts and is expected to appear for facts and sentencing on January 25.
