A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl narrated in the Lusaka magistrate’s court how she was defiled by her head teacher at a named office in Lusaka’s Mtendere Township.
In this case, Saul Banda, the head teacher, is charged with defilement.
When the case came up for trial before magistrate Irene Wishimanga, the girl told the court that Banda called her to his office.
She said when she went to the office, Banda closed the door, closed her mouth with his hand and undressed her by removing the leggings she was wearing.
The girl told Ms Wishimanga that Banda also undressed, made her lie on the table and had carnal knowledge of her.
She said she experienced pain after the ordeal.
“He undressed me and started shaking his …on me. I could not scream because he closed my mouth with his hand,” she said.
And a teacher at the same school said he was on duty on the material day and that during break time, he was conducting inspections to see what was happening around the school and noticed that the girl was isolated.
He said he then decided to find out why the girl was aloof.
Ms Washimanga adjourned the case to a later date for the continuation of the trial.
