AN AGGRIEVED father who had refused to cleanse his son-in-law because he was not impressed with his behaviour during the funeral has been ordered to perform the traditional rites.
Garneton Local Court ordered Bright Mwansa to perform the traditional rites regardless of what his son-in-law, Peter Mukwanka did.
This was heard in a case in which Mukwanka is seeking court order to compel Mwansa of Mufulira to cleanse him.
Mukwanka told senior magistrate Fredrick Ndhlovu that after the death of his wife in February this year, Mwansa has not cleansed him; a situation he said is preventing him from marrying another woman.
He said he bought what was required for the cleansing ceremony but Mwansa still refused to perform the rites.
