GEOFFREY Mwamba’s son, Peter, yesterday appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to assaulting musician Kachanana Simate.
Peter, 30 a businessman of plot 778 in Lusaka’s Avondale area, is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that the accused on September 20, in Lusaka, assaulted Simate and occasioned her actual bodily harm.
Taking plea before Lusaka magistrate Jennipher Bwalya, Peter said he understood the charge and pleaded not guilty.
The state indicated that it was ready to proceed to trial but defence lawyer Nganga Yalenga asked for an adjournment as he was just standing in for another counsel defending the matter.
Magistrate Bwalya adjourned the case to November 13 for possible commencement of trial.
