POWER Dynamos defender Christopher Munthali and three others may miss the Chipolopolo’s international friendly against Egypt on Sunday due to club commitments.

A total of 20 out of the 24 local players called for both the Egypt friendly and the 2016 Rwanda African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Mozambique reported on Sunday evening and had a first training session at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka yesterday.
Team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi said Chipolopolo coach, George Lwandamina, will make a decision over the Power quartet.
“I had a conversation with the Power team manager yesterday but it seems they have their reservations because of the league game on Wednesday, but I made it clear that players have to report. Normal standard is that players have to report, then we can deal with logistics of club commitments later,” Kamwambi said.

And Power secretary Ricky Mamfunda said the players will be released after tomorrow’s Week 26 clash against Zesco United.
The other players are midfielders Benson Sakala, Kennedy Mudenda and striker Patson Daka.
Mamfunda said the clash against Zesco is crucial and Power cannot afford to miss key players.
“We have made arrangements that we will fly the players into Lusaka immediately after the game on Wednesday. We also have an important game. The game against Zesco is crucial. That’s why we have held on to the players because they are key players whose absence will be felt,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kamwambi said foreign-based players will join camp before the team leaves for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday.
France-based defender Stopilla Sunzu and Russia-based midfielder Chisamba Lungu are expected to join the team today.
“We have made arrangements to have all the professionals here because we will not have time in Dubai. I can confirm Stopilla is flying out of France tonight [last night] and Chisamba as well. We are also making arrangements to have Kennedy Mweene and Collins Mbesuma as soon as possible,” Kamwambi said.
The TP Mazembe duo of Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala are expected in camp today, while arrangements for Armenia-based midfielder Lubambo Musonda are in progress.
Meanwhile, under-20 women’s national team coach Osward Mutapa is happy with the players’ attitude ahead of the 2016 Papua New Guinea World Cup second round return leg against South Africa, ALEX NJOVU reports.
Mutapa said in Lusaka yesterday that the junior She-polopolo are travelling to South Africa to clinch qualification to the third round.
The teams played to a goalless draw in the first leg on September 27.
“Competition is high among the players, we are happy with the response in training,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mutapa said the team will face Cameroon in an international friendly next week in Lusaka.
“We are playing Cameroon next week after the game against South Africa. This is a very important game for us, it gives the players exposure and experience that we need,” he said.
