Female warder on the loose

THE ZAMBIA Prisons Service has instituted investigations to establish reports that a female warder is allegedly on the loose obtaining money by false pretences from some unsuspecting Kabwe residents.
Zambia Prisons Service Commissioner-General Percy Chato warned that he would not protect or shield any officer found involved in any criminal activities and that those found wanting would be flushed out of the service.

In an interview in Kabwe yesterday, Mr Chato said his command would ensure the matter was investigated thoroughly and the officer found wanting dealt with accordingly.
But the affected victims of the named female warder said the suspect had been collecting money on the pretext of supplying some goods, while in some cases she was borrowing and not paying back.
The victims said they had reported the matter to various police stations in Kabwe but nothing had happened because of her alleged connections with some police officers.
