Zambia coach George Lwandamina has axed strikers Emmanuel Mayuka and Jacob Mulenga from his list of foreign-based call-ups for next month’s 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier against Kenya on September 6.
Mayuka and Mulenga are not part of the official 13-member list of foreign call-ups released on Monday to face Kenya in Nairobi.
Mulenga has been dropped after the Chinese-based striker allegedly declined his invitation for the Kenya date after warming the bench in the 2015 Africa Cup qualifier doubleheader against Niger last year.
Lwandamina has also dumped inactive Mayuka who recently recovered from six-month injury layoff and has been subsequently release by English Premiership club Southampton in the summer.
Also axed is Mazembe striker Given Singuluma and Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Mukuka Mulenga.
Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene and Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Collins Mbesuma are the only PSL-based players in the team.
Goalkeeper: Kennedy Mweene (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa)
Defenders: Stopilla Sunzu (Lille, France), Kabaso Chongo (TP Mazembe, DR Congo), Emmanuel Mbola (Haopel Ra’anana, Israel), Aaron Katebe (Maghreb Tetoun, Morocco)
Midfielders: Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala (Both TP Mazembe, DRC), Kondwani Mtonga (NorthEast United, India), Lubambo Musonda (Gandzasar, Armenia), Chisamba Lungu (FC Ural, Russia)
Strikers: Ronald Kampamba (Wadi Degla, Egypt), Evans Kangwa ( Haopel Ra’anana, Israel), (Collins Mbesuma (Mpumalanga Black Aces, South Africa)
