Lusaka, August 14, ZANIS–The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee has awarded ZESCO United three points with a 3 nil score line following the abandoned week 18 match against Mufurila Wanderers.
The six man committee chaired by Anthony Kasolo found Mufurila Wanderers guilty of the violence which happened during the said match played at Shinde Stadium in Mufurila and subsequently caused the abandonment of the match.
This was after referee Gladys Lengwe stopped the match after the alleged Mufulira wanderers Fans pelted stones and bottles onto the field of play after ZESCO scored in the 30th minute.
According to FAZ Communications Manager Nkweto Tembwe, in a statement to ZANIS Sports , the committee ruling which is pursuant to Article 91 and 92 of the FAZ Disciplinary Code has also seen Mufurila Wanderers being fined K5,000 and will play their next six home matches sixty kilometres away from the Stadium.
Mufulira Wanderers Assistant Coaches Moses and Mulenga Chewe have since been fined K2, 000 each and suspended from the Technical bench for two matches beginning this weekend.
Mufurila Wanderers was represented at the disciplinary hearing by the Club’s Vice Chairman Phillip Zyambo while Zesco United was represented by Committee Member Charles Kalala.
Meanwhile, Mufulira Wanderers Club Secretary Samuel Kalunga said the club is weighing the possibility of appealing the decisions passed today by the FAZ disciplinary committee.
