A 46 years pastor appeared in Mumbwa magistrate court today for allegedly obtaining money on false pretence from a bus driver.
Pastor Isaac Salale of House No.126/8 in Chilanga of the Pentecostal’s Living church gospel is accused to have obtained K 1, 500 cash from the mini-bus driver Given Mulowa on pretext that he will facilitate his appointment as District Commissioner.
Salale of House No.126/8 in Chilanga of the Pentecostal’s Living church gospel appeared for plea before Mumbwa Magistrate Christopher Matipa on one count of obtaining money by force pretences contrary to section 306 of the penal code, CAP 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence are that Salale on the unknown dates but between 4th and 5th April did obtain K1,500 cash from Mulowa, on the pretext that he will facilitate his appointment as Mumbwa District Commissioner.
Salale however has denied the charge and the matter was adjourned to April 15 for commencement of trial.
The pastor was arrested by Police yesterday after Mulowa complained that the appointment was not forthcoming.
By press time the pastor was struggling to raise K2, 000 cash and two working sureties to meet bail conditions and he is still being remanded in custody at Mumbwa Prison.
