———– Government has released K12 million kwacha for the construction of an administration block and a police post in Ikelenge District.
Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata also disclosed that part of the money is meant for construction of staff houses in the District.
Ms Kapata who is also Mandevu Member of Parliament disclosed this to ZANIS in interview in Solwezi today saying Chiefness Ikelengi’s palace is also being rehabilitated.
Ms. Kapata who is Patriotic Front –PF campaign Chairperson for North Western Province is on a campaign trail for her party.
The Tourism and Arts Minister mentioned several developmental projects brought about in all the Districts of North Western Province by government including the newly built Kamapanda boarder infrastructure.
She furthermore added that the Chingola – Solwezi road had been advertised and a new contractor would take up the work soon.
Ms Kapata said every District in the Province would be connected to the National grid by 2016.
Meanwhile, Ms Kapata clarified that none of the workers at Lumwana mine has been laid off by Barrick Gold- Lumwana mine.
She stressed that the government had called for dialogue with management and therefore, no employee will be laid off.
