Police in Solwezi have picked up a body of a man who was killed by unknown people in a bizarre circumstance.
North Western Province Police Commissioner, Eugene Sibote, said the body of Mathews Chewe, a resident of Island compound, was found at the edge of the Solwezi River with ears, lips, eye lids, two fingers on the left hand and testicles cut off.
Mr Sibote said Chewe’s upper body was found on the ground while the legs were in the water.
He said police suspect that a sharp instrument was used in the gruesome killing which happened on June 2, 2014.
Mr Sibote said the two suspects who are being held in custody were the last people seen with the deceased.
