The 2014 Airtel rising stars talent search has targeted to reach at least 30,000 youths through out the country. The program which kicked off in Lusaka yesterday will involve coaches visiting the remotest of places throughout Zambia. Just yesterday over over 23 teams were assessed.
FAZ executive member in charge of the youth Lee Kawanu says the program needs the support of all parents and school administrators in allowing the youth to showcase their talent.
The search has today shifted attention to Mumbwa and Chongwe
“Without a doubt this program has been successful in the four years it has been running, young boys and girls have been identified and are now forming the core of the junior teams” Kawanu added.
So far some of the boys identified have been picked up by premier teams like Nchanga Rangers in the case of under seventeen captain,Patson Daka who is number one striker at the Chingola based side.
Another boy that has benefited from this program is Godfrey Ngwenya (in orange and black below) who the Mobile communication company has picked as one of its ambassadors.
Youths from across the country are asked to look out for the entire program which will run until June 16,2014.
