—A Copperbelt-based veteran Judo instructor says Zambia has the potential to produce world top class Judokas.
Jonathan Kruger said Zambia has massive young talented judokas who are capable of competing favourably at international level once they are given all the required maximum support.
Kruger, who instructs the underprivileged youths and orphans in judo and jujitsu on the Copperbelt Province, said the local judokas only needs strong motivation for them to attain their glorious moments in their careers.
Kruger, who represented Zambia at the 1995 world Judo Championship which was held in Chiba, Japan, said judo is one sport that can make Zambia attain world recognition once it is fully supported by all key stakeholders.
Kruger also represented Zambia in many world Judo Championships from 1991 to the year 2000 and now operates the Kodokwan Judo Jujitsu Club, a traditional Japanese martial arts school based in Kitwe working mainly with the underprivileged community.
