Zambia champions Nkana FC have arrived in the country ahead of their must win Caf Champions league tie against KCC FC.
The two sides clash this Saturday March 8, at Mandela National stadium, Namboole with the Zambians in need of a win or at least a draw of more than three goals to reach the next stage after they were held to a 2-2 draw by KCC FC in Kitwe last weekend.
The 33 man contingent has 18 members of the playing staff while the rest are club officials and a few fans touched down at Entebbe international Airport at 8.30 am aboard Ethiopia Airlines.
The playing staff is almost identical with the squad that Coach Masauso Mwale had for the first leg with only midfielder Frank Chibuye missing through knee injury.
His place in the 18 man squad has been taken by Mwila Kabwe who is yet to make any appearance in the competition this campaign.
On arrival before heading to Hotel Africana where they will reside, Mwale told Kawowo Sports that he is aware of the huge task that lies ahead for his team on Saturday but he is sure his side can shock the home team in front of their fans.
“It will be a tough job but we can beat KCC FC here,” Mwale said. “We are aware of what is required of us and we hope to achieve it here,” he added.
Nkana FC has a good record in Uganda with no loss suffered on their three visits in caf competitions and boost 100% against Ugandan clubs in their own backyard.
The side is set to hold their first session at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo later this afternoon but will get the feel of Namboole turf on Friday evening as per FIFA and CAF regulations.
