The opposition Zambia Direct Democracy Movement party (ZDDM) has suggested that the electronic voting (e-vote) could be the answer to voter apathy which is being experienced during elections.

ZDDM vice president Charles Kafumbo called on parliament to amend the Electoral Act and allow people to vote using e-vote which he said would be transparent.

Mr. Kafumbo observed that voting through the secret ballot has brought about violence at polling centres causing some electorates to shunned voting for fear of being harassed.

And Mr. Kafumbo has called on all registered opposition political parties in Zambia to hold a national indaba to address the challenges the country is experiencing.

He said it was in this regard that his party initiated and launched the national coalition of political parties to foster unity in the nation.
