CHIPOLOPOLO striker Evans Kangwa has failed to report for training at Nkana, forcing the club to now declare him absent without official leave (AWOL).
Nkana secretary, Ken Mwansa said in Kitwe that the club’s executive was disappointed with Kangwa’s attitude.
“He has disappeared. We do not know where he is,” Mwansa said.
Mwansa said Kangwa last trained with Nkana more than two weeks ago just after returning from 2014 CHAN qualifying duty with Zambia.
“The last time he trained with us was on August 27, in the afternoon; just after that on 28, he disappeared. Not even his colleagues know where he is,” Mwansa said.
He said it was even more disappointing, especially after the club facilitated his logistics in Spain and his subsequent return from that country following an impasse over a potential move to Spanish side, Segunda Division Recreativo Huelva.
Kangwa returned to Zambia in June after a prolonged six-month trial stint at Huelva before talks stalled.
Despite that, Kangwa was on record in the Press as stating that he was eager to move abroad and would not consider returning to Nkana.
Kangwa was recently recalled by Herve Renard for CHAN duty and scored one goal after coming on as a substitute in Chipolopolo’s 2-0 win over Botswana in a first round, return leg match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on August 3.
