Soccer fans in Ndola are optimistic that the Zambia national soccer team will go past the Supper Eagles of Nigeria in Friday’s AFCON encounter in South Africa.
ZANIS Ndola reports that most fans were sure that the Chipolopolo boys will emerge victorious over tournament favourites Nigeria.
Ackim Mwelwa explained that group C, where all four competing teams have one point each, was still undecided and still open to any team to qualify.
Mwelwa said there were no underdogs at the ongoing AFCON as each team prepared adequately for the championship.
He said there was no need for anyone to underrate Zambia and overrate Nigeria because of the record that the Super Eagles have over the Chipolopolo boys.
Another fan said Zambia should be very cautious as they face Nigeria because the Super Eagles were aware of what to expect from Zambia.
Moses Ngwira said Nigeria was well prepared for Zambia and they were going for an outright win against the champions.
He said there was need for the Chipolopolo technical bench to cover all defensive gaps that were easily noticeable in the match against Ethiopia.
Zambia will tomorrow face Nigeria in an encounter that will either confirm her early exit from the AFCON or give hope for a quarter final place.
In the last five encounters that Zambia has played Nigeria, the Super Eagles have won four times and drew one.
