A total of 13 goals have so far been scored in the first four games played in the ongoing Confederation of the Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) senior challenge cup tournament.
The 13 COSAFA member countries tournament currently being hosted by Zambia kicked off on Saturday, July 6th, 2013 after an official opening at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.
The tournament has so far proven to produce a lot of goals.
In the Group A opener, Namibia beat the not so determined Mauritius by 2 goals to 1 before going ahead to beat another islander, Seychelles by 4 goals to 2 yesterday to bag 6 goals.
With the two wins, the Brave Warriors of Namibia have since qualified to the quarter finals and they will face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa next Saturday at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.
Botswana and Swaziland however fought to a compelling nil all draw in their Group B opener of the COSAFA Cup on Sunday, July 7, 2013 evening at Arthur Davies stadium in Kitwe.
Kenya, who arrived in the country seven hours before their opening game on Sunday, scored two late goals to hold Lesotho in a Group B encounter played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Meanwhile, the tournament has exhibited quality fair play and no player has been booked with a red card but a number of yellow cards have so far been issued.
The lucrative 16 days tournament will close on the 20th of July after the final match to be at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Zambia, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi are not participating in the group stages because they are seeded countries from the previous tournament.
Zambia, who is hosting the tournament, faces the tricky Mambas of Mozambique in the quarter final match of the ongoing COSAFA senior challenge cup which the country is hosting.
