Chipolopolo defender Simon Silwimba will miss Saturday’s quarterfinal against Sudan due to suspension.
The Chipolopolo bench had been waiting on the CAF position on Silwimba after the tournament organizers indicated that all cards accumulated in the first round would be cancelled going into the quarterfinals.
However, CAF has indicated that players that accumulated two yellow cards or were red-carded would not be eligible for the quarterfinals.
Coach Wedson Nyirenda may have to fall on Nkana Football Club defender John Mwengeni.
Silwimba got yellow carded in the 3-1 win against Uganda and the 1-all draw match played with Namibia.
Zambia plays Sudan at the Grand Stade de Marrakech in a 21:30 hours kickoff (Zambian time).
The match will be live on SuperSport.
