2 BOYS NABBED FOR RAPING WOMAN

TWO boys of Namwala District in Southern Province have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a house and raping a 20-year-old woman.
Southern Province Police chief Godwin Phiri, who confirmed the arrests, said the duo of Cooperative Township broke into the victim’s house while her husband was away.
Mr Phiri said Police have since instituted investigations into the rape case in which the victim sustained injuries on her private parts.
Meanwhile, Mr Phiri said a minor of Namwala, aged 14 years, was defiled by a 20-year-old man identified as Mundia Chibenga of the same area.
Mr Phiri said the incident happened on February 7, 2016 between 21:00 hours and 05:00 hours and Chibenga has since been arrested.
In another incident, a man of Simonga area was burnt to death when the grass-thatched house he was sleeping in caught fire.
The incident happened on Monday at 18:30 hours in Lukuni village and Police who suspect foul play have since dispatched a pathologist to the area.
