The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) says its getting the sense that there is growing uncertainty in the economy in view of the presidential petition before the Constitutional Court.
Association president Chrispin Mphuka has told QFM News that this is mainly because the direction the Constitutional Court process will take is not known.
Dr. Mphuka says the longer the court process takes the more it will affect the country’s ability to attract investment.
He says this is because economic agents during this period will be playing a wait and see game until they are certain the situation has stabilized in the country.
Dr Mphuka adds that a prolonged court process will also delay the budgeting process for 2017.
