THE United Party for National Development (UPND) and the Forum Democracy and Development (FDD) have said they are not in a rush to name their running mates for their presidential candidates in the August 11 general elections.
The two parties said this in separate interviews through their spokespersons yesterday.
UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma said a running mate for the party president Hakainde Hichilema will soon be announced but that the issue is not a big deal.
“The issue of running mate is the discretion of our party’s presidential candidate, the name can be announced any day because it is not a big deal,” he said Mr Kakoma, however, said the announcement of Mr Hichilema’s running mate will shake the whole country.
