CHIPOLOPOLO star striker Collins Mbesuma has been voted the Absa Premiership Player-of-the-Month for September/October following his outstanding performance for his South Africa side Mpumalanga Black Aces.

He was presented with the accolade yesterday morning at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) headquarters together with Platinum Stars boss Cavin Johnson, who was voted Coach-of-the-Month.
Mbesuma immediately declared that his team was aiming at finishing in the top four and praised the team work at the club.
“I think we are going to have a good season. All this comes from team work, we have had a good run and hope it continues. We want to see ourselves in the top four,” Mbesuma told the PSL website.

Mbesuma is joint-top of the Premier Soccer League scorers charts with five goals alongside Free State Stars’ Andrea Fileccia, while Johnson has steered his unbeaten Platinum Stars to the summit of the log.
When asked about the pressures faced as a team and a player, Mbesuma said that was part of the game and it was inevitable to be able to manage it well.
“As a soccer player you have to handle the pressure and that is why we are playing well as a team at Aces,” he told kickoff.com.
Meanwhile, the locally based Chipolopolo regrouped yesterday in readiness of a Four Nations tournament to be played in Angola this weekend.
The 25 man squad that has been summoned is also preparing for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Sudan on November 11 away in Khartoum before playing the return fixture four days later.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications manager Nkweto Tembwe confirmed Zambia’s participation in the tournament that will involve the hosts Angola, Namibia, DR Congo and Zambia.
