“Out of control” Jerabos attack rival gang at hospital

POLICE in Kitwe have arrested five members of a gang of suspected copper thieves commonly known as jerabos for allegedly attacking two people from a rival group and stabbing one in the buttocks.

 
The suspects also got away with K7,000 cash from one of the victims whom they battered when they went to check on their machinery at a slag dump called Black Mountain in Wusakile.
After being beaten, the victims went to Kitwe Central Hospital (KCH) to seek treatment but the suspects followed them and continued with the assault, stabbing one in the buttocks.

Copperbelt deputy commissioner of police Byemba Musole said in an interview that the incident happened on Monday at 18:30 hours.

 
He said police have arrested the suspects and charged them with aggravated robbery.

Mr Musole identified the suspects as Charles Bupe, Simeon Kalobo, Kelvin Tembo, Junior Tembo and a man only identified as Gift, all of Kitwe.
We arrested five people in Kitwe, who beat up a man and got away with K7,000 cash.

 

The five have been charged with aggravated robbery since they used force to get the money,” Mr Musole said.
He identified one of the victims as Terry Kayamba, who is admitted to KCH.

He was a neighbour, parent and guardian, member of some social groups and was even a friend of Christ as he was a Convenor at one of the UCZ churches on the Copperbelt. So, because Kambwili attended the funeral that makes him a criminal? Wise one, what are you going to say about the UCZ which conducted Youngson’s funeral sermon – a bunch of criminals? Reason with your God given brain NOT your politically motivated bitterness.
