PROFLIGHT Zambia and South African Airways (SAA) have signed an interline agreement to enable passengers travel easily across the networks of both airlines with a single booking.
Under the agreement, customers would be able to make joint Proflight Zambia-SAA bookings and be issued with a single combined ticket.
This would enable seamless connections to and from Proflight’s domestic destinations such as Lusaka, Ndola, Livingstone, Mfuwe, Solwezi, Kasama, Lower Zambezi, as well as its two international routes, Lilongwe in Malawi and Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Proflight director of government and industry affairs Phillip Lemba said the arrangement would enable customers to book flights to 57 destinations within the SAA network, and for passengers to travel more easily to provincial destinations throughout Zambia.
The inter-line was expected to boost in-bound tourism to Zambia, attract more business travellers, and make it easier for Zambian travellers to explore destinations internationally.
“South Africa is an important hub for travellers in the region. This agreement with SAA enables Proflight passengers to book seamlessly from anywhere in Zambia to destinations across the SAA network and indeed overseas travellers to book and travel straight to their final destination within Zambia,” Captain Lemba said in a statement yesterday.
SAA country manager Vincent Mupwaya said Proflight would assist the airline with onward connections from airports that SAA operated to in Zambia such as Lusaka, Ndola and Livingstone.
“Customers will enjoy a range of added benefits, including special fares on itineraries across the two airlines,” he said.
