Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda has advised Ministers and Patriotic Front officials to stop premature presidential campaigns because there is no imminent Presidential by-election.
And Mr Chikwanda says the Post Newspapers has embarked on a crusade to have him hounded out of government for political reasons.
Speaking to Journalists this morning shortly before embarking on a tour of the L-400 road construction project in Lusaka, Mr Chikwanda says the country still has a President in State House hence there is no need for some Ministers to continue insinuating that there will be a presidential by-election soon.
Mr Chikwanda says while every Zambian has the right to contest for the presidency, this should only be done when there is a vacancy.
The Finance Minister says Zambians still have the faith that President Michael Sata is the best custodian of their interests.
