Govt. impressed with development pace in new Mitete District

 

Lusaka, August, 18, 2014, ZANIS ——-   Government says it is impressed with the rate at which developmental projects are going in the newly created  Mitete district of Western Province.

 

 

Mitete District Commissioner Teddy Chimbinde Mr Chimbinde says a plot has since been surveyed by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for the construction of the district administration center.

 

 

Mr. Chimbinde revealed that fifty one million Kwacha has since been released for the construction of the first ever boarding school in the district.

 

 

ZANIS reports that the D.C said this in an exclusive interview in Milenge Distict at the weekend.

 

 

Mr Chimbinde said that China Jiangx has already moved on site to build the school which will compromise a modern clinic and Kitchen for pupils, computer rooms for technical lessons and two boreholes for clean water as well as teachers houses.

 

 

He said the school is a major project in the district, as pupils will stop traveling long distances to access tertiary education.

 

 

Mr Chimbinde said that school is likely to be completed in two and half years.

 

 

He said the district has also benefited from the construction of health posts across the country by the Ministry of Health and so far six clinics have been built in the district.

 

 

Currently the district is waiting to receive office plots and the unveiling of the construction of houses for civil servants by the Ministry of Works and Supply, said the DC.
