Revamped Chishinga ranch in Kawambwa district to benefit the nation

Kawambwa , June 20, 2014, ZANIS— Government says its efforts to revamp operations of the Chishinga ranch in Kawambwa district in Luapula Province will help with the restocking programme in district and beyond.
District Administrative officer, Mwita Kasengele says government hopes that Kawambwa District will supply other districts in the province with animals.
Mr. Kasengele for this reason encouraged farmers in the district to prepare themselves for the prospect of acquiring animals for their farms in the immediate future .

The Chishinga Ranch which had remained dormant for years but is now being revived by the PF government has got great capacity to supply all districts in the province and beyond with cattle among other domestic animals.
Meanwhile, Mr Kasengele says the government is committed to ensuring food security at household, district and national level.
He adds that the government will also continue to support farmers through the farmer input support programme (FISP)

He urges farmers to be strategic in the management of their harvest because the government is concerned with food security for its people
