The Zambia Tourism Board-ZTB- has projected that tourist arrivals in the country will exceed one million this year.
And ZTB Managing Director Felix Chaila says tourist arrivals rose by 6.7 per cent last year above the annual Africa growth rate of five per cent.
Mr Chaila says Zambia recorded 924 thousand tourist arrivals last year compared to 850 thousand in 2012.
He said this during the launch of the tourism report in Lusaka.
Mr Chaila says ZTB anticipates good business from emerging markets such as India, China and Russia.
He says ZTB will also work towards consolidating traditional markets in South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
