The Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (CSAWUZ) has appealed to government to consider lifting the wage freeze.
CSAWUZ president Davy Chiyobe says this is in view of the increase in the cost of living in the country.
Mr. Chiyobe says lifting the wage freeze imposed on the civil service will help create breathing space for the affected workers who are grappling with the high cost of living.
He says workers are facing hardships hence the need for the government to consider lifting the wage freeze.
And Mr. Chiyobe has appealed to government to consider reinstating the dismissed nurses who went on strike last year unconditionally.
