The Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Works, Supply and Communications is concerned with the increasing habit by some people who stone trains while transporting people and goods.
Committee Chairman, Kapembwa Simbao says it is disappointing that people can stone trains when the government is spending huge sums of money to improve rail transport in the country.
He has warned residents living along the railway line that they risk facing the law if they continue damaging wagons and locomotives.
This came to light during the tour of the entire Zambia railway line from Chililabombwe on the copperbelt to Mulobezi in Western province.
The committee also toured the Chipata-Muchinji rail line in Eastern Province.
And Committee Member and UPND Moomba Member of Parliament, Vitalis Mooya says stoning the train can injure people on board.
