Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) Leader Nevers Mumba says he will now embark on an aggressive party mobilization campaign ahead of the 2016 elections following the failure by senior party members who were seeking to oust him to garner the necessary two thirds required to convene an extraordinary convention.
Dr. Mumba says he will work towards uniting the former ruling party to ensure the party bounces back to power in 2016.
Dr. Mumba has told QFM News in a telephone interview that he is embarking on a countrywide party mobilization exercise to ensure the party becomes stronger.
Dr. Mumba says it is his desire to see the former ruling party bounce back to power and continue serving the Zambian people where they had left from in 2011.
He expresses confidence that the MMD will make history by becoming the first party to bounce back to power after being in the opposition for one term.
