Some Council employees in Kasama yesterday locked the offices of the District Commissioner Kalanga Bwalya and the Town Clerk Rapheal Phiri demanding to be paid their November salaries.
The irate workers later matched to the office of the Permanent Secretary Hlobota Nkunika who assured them that government has released the money to pay them their November salaries.
He attributed the delay in payment as a result of breakdown in communication.
Mr. Nkunika however warned that it is wrong for the workers to lock or close government offices as the trend does not solve problems when there are procedures to follow when once aggrieved.
The Kasama Municipal Council will soon start paying November salaries for division three (3) workers and the others will later follow.
