Ministry of Youth and Sports Permanent Secretary, Agness Musunga, says there is need for youths to attend scouting activities.
Mrs Musunga said scouting reduces dependability and also enhance the uplifting of morality among the youths.
The Permanent Secretary said her ministry will focus on re-organising the scouting association at grass-root level in order to enhance the effectiveness of the association.
She was peaking when Regional Director of the World Scout Bureau, Africa Regional Office, Fredric Tutu Kama-Kama, paid a courtesy call on her today.
Mrs Musunga said scouting helps create employment opportunities for the youth in society.
She said her ministry, together with other line ministries, will continue to involve the Church in its quest to enhance effectiveness of the youths in the country.
Meanwhile, Regional Director of the World Scout Bureau, Africa Regional Office Fredric Tutu Kama-Kama has said the bureau sees Zambia to have a lot of potential among the youths.
Mr Kama-Kama, however, noted that the scout association in Zambia has a limping leg as regards to leadership which he said needs concerted efforts.
