—–Government has completed the rural electrification exercise in Chavuma district in North-Western province which has seen all government institutions up to Kambuya on the west bank connected to electricity.
Chavuma District Commissioner, Lawrence Kayumba who confirmed the development to ZANIS in Chavuma said the exercise which costed K7.2 million has seen all schools and clinics on the west bank situated about 18 kilometres from Chavuma Central connected to electricity.
Mr Kayumba said the development will also create an opportunity for the community in rural areas to have access to electricity which in the past was only available in urban areas.
He said the Patriotic Front government is determined to ensure that all its citizens in remote areas access social amenities that will improve their livelihood.
Mr Kayumba added that the project which has cheered many people on the west bank will be commissioned soon.
