United Party for National Development (UPND) National Chairlady for Women Affairs, Namakau Kabwiku, says Vice President Dr. Guy Scott went to Katuba Constituency yesterday to campaign and not to check on infrastructure as he put it.
Ms. Kabwiku has told QFM News in an interview that it is unacceptable that Dr. Scott visited the constituency in the name of checking on infrastructure when in the actual sense he went to campaign.
She wonders why the Vice President chose to inspect government projects at the time the constituency is expected to have a parliamentary by-election, questioning the motive behind such a visit if not to campaign.
She says if it was an opposition leader who visited the area, Police would have pounced on him.
Ms. Kabwiku has since appealed to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to caution the Vice president for visiting the area when Katuba by-elections are scheduled to take place soon.
Dr. Scott, who was in the company of Health Minister, Dr. Joseph Kasonde, yesterday visited Katuba constituency and paid a courtesy call on Chietainess Mungule of Chibombo district where he had gone to check on the state of infrastructure in the area.
