At least 80 firms from 22 foreign countries have confirmed participation in this year’s Zambia Agriculture and Commercial Show which opens in Lusaka early next month. The total number of exhibitors to this year’s event, whose theme is “Business in a Changing Environment” has been pegged at K1,000.
Agriculture and Commercial Show Society of Zambia (ACSSZ) president John Mwale said in Lusaka that more than K500,000 has since been spent on renovations of the various infrastructure such as the American dome, new entry gates, temporary bus stops and resurfacing of roads.
“The rehabilitation of the show grounds infrastructure in readiness for this year’s show has been very well attended to. The society has resurfaced four roads, constructed six more gates and therefore, we have a total of twelve gates which have seventy-three entrances.” Mr Mwale has said.
Mr Mwale said ASSSZ has projected to raise close to K2 million from this year’s show, adding that, entry charges have been nominally increased to K20 for a person who is over five years of age.
Show membership for the five-day exhibition would be K100 per adult, while junior members aged between six and 17 years old will pay K50. Exhibitor’s badges will cost K120, while the adult society member badge will cost K90 and the junior society membership fee will be K45.
